During the procedure, the infected or damaged pulp is removed, the inside of  the tooth is cleaned, disinfected, and then sealed. This helps to save the  tooth and relieve pain. It&#8217;s a common way to address severe tooth decay or  infection. If you have more specific questions about root canals, feel free to  ask!<\/p>\n\n  <ul class=\"list-style\">\n    <li><strong>Diagnosis:<\/strong> The dentist examines your tooth  and uses X-rays to determine the extent of the infection or damage in the pulp.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Anesthesia:<\/strong> Local anesthesia is  administered to numb the area around the tooth, ensuring you&#8217;re comfortable  during the procedure.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Isolation:<\/strong> A rubber dam is placed around  the tooth to keep it dry and free from saliva during the procedure.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Access:<\/strong> The dentist creates a small  opening in the crown of the tooth to access the pulp chamber.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Cleaning and Shaping:<\/strong> Using specialized tools, the  dentist removes the infected or damaged pulp tissue from the pulp chamber and  root canals. If the tooth  needs additional restoration, such as a crown, this step might be temporary.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Restoration:<\/strong> In many cases, a tooth that has  undergone a root canal will need further restoration, such as a crown, to  provide strength and protection. A crown is typically placed over the tooth to  restore its appearance and function.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Healing:<\/strong> Over time, the tooth should heal and return to normal function.
